I am taking full advantage of this beautiful day by working on a few new tiara ideas. This one has a sort of dark fairy motif going on. My porch has been surrounded by huge firefly and butterflies this whole month so I'm guessing they are rubbing off on me.
Ooooo look at this old gypsy caravan with all it's beautiful painted decoration! Too stunning for words!
The lure of the gypsy caravan life is STRONG with me today. The only thing is that I would have to have a second caravan to house my studio. And then a third to house my boyfriend's studio. So we would actually make up our own gypsy camp. Oooooo how fun would it be to have a caravan as an art studio!!!! Now I REALLY want one!!!! Thank you pinterest for showing me this image, and this image. Oh, and those dresses are just to die for aren't they!
Soooo ... I was looking at images of Byzantine art, and mermaids when I came up with the idea for this tiara. I know the two ideas don't seem to go together. And every time I say that to someone they question me a lot. Realize my image searches are CRAZY. And when I start a google search for art you never know where I will end up. I should probably just say steampunk mermaid to make it easier on everyone. But you have to admit Byzantine and mermaid together does make a pretty tiara.
Isn't this the most amazing idea for a Halloween costume... or the odd Wednesday night when you feel like dressing up like a mermaid for no particular reason (it happens more that you think it would). Using a nylon to simulate webbing is just genius! Thank you arsenicandcupcakes for posting this to pinterest!
While wondering around the internet today looking for mermaids I just happened to find this sculpture by Cameron Stalheim. Isn't is AMAZING!!!
Summer always makes me think of traveling 1920's carnivals, gypsy caravans, and running away with the circus. Giving me the most unbelievable urge to work with peacock feathers (don't worry it makes sense in my brain). So with images of bohemian tribal steampunk dancers I made this filigree hair clip.
EJPcreations is a mad scientist of a woman specializing in creating tiaras, necklaces, and fascinators, with a noir, and gothic flair. All adornments have a hint of vampire elegance, a dash of Steampunk bravado, and plenty of Neo-Victorian sensibilities.
